The Awards Committee of NCURA Region I invites your participation in
nominating individuals for a travel award to help defray the costs of
attending the:
The award amount is up to $1,000 per travel award. One award will be
made this year. We are requesting that you identify those individuals
whom you believe to be the most deserving candidate(s).
CRITERIA
Nominee must be a research administrator from the
Region I geographical area (New England)
Nominees for all travel awards except the Region 1 Spring Meeting are
required to be members of NCURA at the time of nomination
Self-nomination is encouraged
ELIGIBILITY
Preference will be given to research administrators
with 6-18 months experience in the field of research administration and/or who can
demonstrate financial need.
Individuals must not have received a travel award
within the last 3 years.
NOMINATION
AND SELECTION PROCEDURES
The Chair of the Awards Committee will issue a call
for nominations.
All nominations must contain the Nomination Cover Page and Letter of Support from nominee's
supervisor or, if self-nominated, a letter from the nominee. If a nomination is submitted by an individual
other than the nominee or nominee's supervisor, an explanation must be attached
describing the affiliation to the nominee. Please forward to awards@ncuraregion1.org
Awardees are selected based on demonstration of
financial need and professional benefit to the individual, as determined by the
Awards Committee.
Best efforts will be made to select and notify
awardees at least 2 months prior to the NCURA meeting.
Awards are issued as a reimbursement of expenses. A copy of the awardees' institutionally
approved travel expense report and list of itemized expenses must be received
by the Region I Treasurer no later than sixty
(60) days after the conclusion of the meeting.
Upon receipt of the travel report, a check will be issued to the
awardees' institution. Awardees are
advised to make arrangements in advance with their institution to cover travel
expenses until reimbursement by NCURA is received.
